We’re almost halfway through 2021, but most of us are still shaking off the effects of 2020 — and that’s if we’re lucky.
It’s very likely that you’re looking at a significant transformation right now. In your business, your personal life, your health … or “all of the above and then some.”
We sometimes fall into the trap of thinking that one path is strategic and the other is creative, and it’s our job to choose between the two.
But you’re much better off settling in at that intersection and taking advantage of the benefits of both.
Strategy without creativity is what keeps folks bouncing from one “money-getting system” to another, filling in the paint by numbers and never actually seeing results.
Creativity without strategy is more fun … at least until the bills are due. Eventually, creative excellence without the accompanying rewards just gets too frustrating, and we’re likely to quit.
For any given dilemma, problem, or opportunity you’re facing, ask yourself,
How can I bring more creativity to this? And what strategies will help keep it going the right direction?
I’ll be sharing some resources to do that this week in my curated newsletter, The Fierce.
Join me for strategies, resources, and inspiration for creative ferocity in a business context.
Next issue goes out on Friday, and you’ll also get instant access to my special report on 7 Things Prolific Writers Do Differently.
